“You look so beautiful,” he turned pink as he spoke. He swept strands of my hair away from my face after the cool breeze blew in my hair. The sand was so cool against the soles of my feet. Dad always told me not to go to the beach at night but we just saw the sun set an hour ago.
“Oh you,” I shoved him lightly into the tide.
The soft crashing of the waves was so relaxing. I just want a picnic now with candlelight but… I’m so sappy right now. Please make this stop.
Suddenly, David came grabbing me from my sides with two arms open and dragged me out into the waters. He yelled, “Hey! I meant it!”
The waves came crashing in as he started kissing down my neck from behind. The waves overcame us. I held on to him tighter and screamed. My sides were all wet especially my hair. When I turned around, I see David soaking wet, smiling and chuckling. I was shivering, the air suddenly turned into an icy atmosphere.
“David!” I laughed along with him while I ran my fingers through his wet hair.
He pulled me in for a long kiss. As we did, I felt him smiling. I was about to pass out from the shortage of breath from the kiss. My heart beat was irregular. My tiny lungs, my goodness. He kissed the tip of my nose after that. I had a few seconds to stare at him; I saw his eyes twinkling, his teeth glowing; everything heaven is most probably made of.
“Guess what?” he asked me, still smiling from ear to ear.
“What?”
Our foreheads were touching, his hands slid down my arms to my hands. He squeezed them tight and he gave me quick kiss:
“I love you,” he mumbled. A tiny wave crashed at our ankles. “I love you so much.”
I led him out of the waters, “Careful, you might get a cold; remember? Your sinuses.”
He winced and gave me a minor glare, “What? No… No ‘I love you too’?”
I gave him a look then, “You are such a romantic.”
“And that’s not good?” his eyebrows furrowed. “But Little Deer…”
“Big Bear,” I started. I pulled his head down to my lips. He pulled away quickly and he said, “I still love you anyway.”
“No, wait, I love you too,” I squeezed him tight in my arms. A smile reappeared on his face.
“Adorable,” he said quietly.
“I mean it.”
He sighed; from that sigh, I knew he was hopelessly in love.
